Frances had a different kind of way of doing her own art. Instead of paintings or sketches like I normally see, I saw interesting pieces of metals that were put together in a beautiful way. “Intricate pierce work and incorporating different types of metal to achieve color variances are just a couple of techniques I use in order to tell an entire story, maybe share a specific moment in time, or ask a question and sometimes even answer it.” She finds many different kinds of metal and binds and puts them together to make pieces such as the one in the picture above.
Working with metal may look beautiful now but they seem like they would rust over time. But as I like to say, it’s all about the present. She’ll continue to make pieces and express her artistic ability. “The love of art and the joy that is felt when transforming such a strong element that is metal into something that can be delicately worn on the body or something that is so bold it is as its best as a piece that stands alone.” Making pieces that can be displayed as jewelry seems tricky as they seem very delicate. But it’s all about how you wear it. Or display it. I’m sure it’s delicate but not that delicate that you have to be so careful when wearing it.
